There was a child who was born to be the one who comforts me…
(written by Sarah Josephine)
We first met briefly in 2001 at the Phoenix Festival, an outdoor electronic music and art gathering in Washington. One year later, we were reunited when I graduated from secondary school in British Columbia and moved back to Seattle.
On September 13th, 2002, after a whirlwind summer friendship (and love at first sight), we both caved to the exasperated urgings of our mutual close friend (groomsman Noah) and went on our first date. Ben brought me a single red rose, which I still have.
Over the past seven-and-a-half years, we've shared in love and loss, supported each other in striving to achieve our dreams, explored shared interests and expanded one another's horizons.

At the conclusion of Burning Man 2008, while the temple went up in flames and they were driving through a dust storm, I spontaneously turned to Ben and asked him to marry me. He said yes. I'm pretty sure that I cried and exclaimed 'I get to marry my best friend!' for much of the (very long) drive home.

We look forward to celebrating our love and commitment in the company of our close friends and family.
